Throwback Thursdays: They Reminisce Over You

Boxofmess.com presents its new “Throwback Thursday”, where we put up some of the greatest hip hop tracks from the past. The first track that we would love to present to you guys is Pete Rock & C. L. Smooth’s track off of their 1992 album “Mecca and the Soul Brother” called “They Reminisce Over You.” For those of you who don’t know the songs background, this track was inspired by the death of their close friend “Trouble” T. Roy of Heavy D & the Boyz in 1990. It peaked at #58 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart, making it one of the most classic hip hop songs of the early 90s. This is one of many songs that truly represents the real essence of hiphop.
