Now everyone thought the Wii was cool because you are active in some of the games instead of just sitting down and just using a controller. But what if you did not have to use a controller at all, but yourself, or an object you have at home and is it possible??? well… your answered was called, Microsoft thought of the “Project Natal,” a hands-free motion-sensitive controller system. This system was most certainly the culmination of several years of work by an Israeli start up called 3DV Systems, which Microsoft just required. This technology is trying to get the user to have more control over the games, movies, and anything else played on the xbox… hands free of course! Xbox maker is trying to expand the XBOX and XBOX Live potential with this system. Natal will have the same function as the Wii but if you want to kick the ball, you make a kicking motion, if you want to punch than you physically make a punching movement…it all seems very simple.

Forrester principal analyst Paul Jackson says

“Obviously, we’ve all got, in the game industry…a huge debt to pay to Nintendo for shaking things up a bit with the Wii, and for moving beyond the 37 button controller. This is taking things to the next extreme. Because even with the Wii, you still have (several) buttons, start and select. It’s still a physical controller.”

Now we don’t want to jump the gun to say that it will be here soon and or that it will be a success. It will take a lot of work from the company before it will be finalized and tons of trial and error. There is no definite answer to when it will be sold or when it will be finished. All I know is that this is some cool stuff here! If Microsoft can get this done than they are definitely the best technological company out there. But, I hope it comes out sometime soon because even if your not a gamer… you will be impressed by this and want to check it out!

Here is a video of how Natal would work
