Even though he does not get the respect as most top notch freshmen do, Darryl Bryant was a key asscet to West Virginia’s success in the Big East this year. Bryant, a point guard, averaged about 10 points a game and chipped in with other parts of the game as well. He is staying at West Virginia and will get plenty of playing time next year. There is a good shot that Bryant will start next year, as well. We can only expect big things from Darryl! Box Of M.E.S.S caught up with Darryl Bryant to talk about basketball as well as life.

Why did you choose to go to West Virginia for Basketball? What do you like about it? ?It was just the best fit for me and the coaches felt like a family?

There is a website called darryl-bryant.love.com….can you explain how this happened? ?No I never really heard about it?

I think a lot of people want to know, what happened to you guys against Dayton? ?They wanted it more than us but that won?t happen again?

What are you the most proud of from this season? ?I?m happy I know what it takes to get far for next year?

How much do you believe you impacted your Mountaineers this year? ?I don?t know how much I impacted them but I know I will be better next year?

What are your goals for you and the team next year? ?My goal is to bring a national championship to Morgantown?

Why is your nickname “Truck”? ?Because when I was younger I used to be chubby and run people over for layups?

People say the Big East is the toughest conference in America, what do you say to that? ?They are 100% right about that it?s a tough game every night?

I have been to West Virginia games before, and one thing I always noticed is the passion of your fans. How does this play an impact on your team’s performance as well as yours? ?It impacts us and me a lot because they?re the gas to the car?

Darryl will look to help improve his Mountaineers a lot next year. Dissapointed by the early exit to Dayton in the first round of the tournament, West Virginia is focused and ready to take down the best of the best!
