2011 Saint Thomas Aquinas’s Bobby Hart has made a name for himself and has been for a good amount of time now. We’ve heard a lot about this guy from his transfer from Cardinal Gibbons to St. Thomas Aquinas and the many college offers he has recieved. Scout.com has this player down for 20 college offers! (Alabama, California, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Rutgers, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin). But, that isn’t even close to the number of offers this player has recieved, Bobby Hart told me he has “over 50 offers”! This 6’5″ 298 OT is ranked #36 on ESPNU 150 for the class of 2011 and is one of the most highly sought out players in his class. An ESPN Evaluation of this guy gives a bit of information on why this OT is a great player for many of the programs that are recruiting him “As a run blocker, when Hart clamps down on a defender it’s usually all over. Although this player currently lacks the great size we like to see for the tackle position at the major level of competition, he more than makes up for it…” Currently Bobby Hart does not have a definite number 1 spot, ” I don’t have a top but, I will be narrowing the schools down soon.”

Question is what school will go? Could it be LSU and Georgia? Hart was able to say what he liked about some of the schools I named but, when it came down to LSU and Georgia, he didn’t seem to know too much about the program. “LSU and Georgia I don’t know too much about.” Could they be gone first? Or he just doesn’t know that much right now and will into the schools more. Well, we will find out later, in the mean time the schools that he definitely showed interest in are FSU and Alabama. ” At FSU the coaches seemed like they were the real deal and at Alabama I liked Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach Pendry and the tradition of the program.” But, it didn’t end there for FSU and Alabama because both of them are in the lead for his schools ” FSU leads and Bama is right after.” These are two schools that definitely have a good spot and battle for Hart. Hart visited both FSU and Alabama and loved them, ” I visited just Alabama and FSU and I loved them both.” As you can see so far those are the two main schools that made an impact on Bobby Hart and possibly will continue to lead throughout the rest of his college decision. Even though he visited Alabama and FSU and loved them both, he is going to visit other schools soon too. Hart will be leaving on the 10th to go visit FSU and Wake Forest. “I’m gonna go to FSU and Wake Forest on the 10th, well I will be leaving on the tenth for both of them.” He will begin to narrow the list down and soon enough to the point where he will commit “ I’ll commit after me and my parents sit down and everyone is on the same page.” This could be next week, next month, next year, no specific time on it. Soon enough we will know where Bobby Hart will be heading off to play. Can’t wait to see where this kid ends up at.

Thank you Bobby Hart for doing the interview with boxofmess.com. Good Luck with the rest of your college process

A trendy California sushi restaurant says it’s closing after being accused of serving illegal whale meat.

The company that owns Santa Monica’s The Hump restaurant had already apologized for the whale meat accusation earlier in the week. The restaurant’s Web site said: “After 12 years doing business in Santa Monica, The Hump will be closing its doors effective March 20, 2010. The Hump hopes that by closing its doors, it will help bring awareness to the detrimental effect that illegal whaling has on the preservation of our ocean ecosystems and species.”

The investigation into the eatery began in October when two members of the team that made the documentary, “The Cove” visited The Hump, officials said. “The Cove,” which exposes the annual killing of dolphins at a Japanese fishing village, won the Academy Award for Best Documentary earlier in March.

Armed with a hidden camera, two women from the documentary captured the waitress serving them whale and horse meat and identifying them as such, a federal criminal complaint said. A receipt from the restaurant at the end of the meal identified their selection as “whale” and “horse” with a cost of $85 written next to them. The women snuck pieces of the meat into a napkin and later sent them for examination to a researcher at Oregon State University. He identified the whale sample to be that of sei whale, prosecutors said.

The meat from whales, considered an endangered species, cannot be sold legally in the United States. The restaurant, located at the Santa Monica Airport, is known for its exotic fare. Its Web site asks diners to surrender themselves to its chefs for “a culinary adventure … unlike any that you have previously experienced.”

Prosecutors have also charged Typhoon Restaurant Inc., the parent company of the restaurant, and one of its chefs — Kiyoshiro Yamamoto, 45 — with the illegal sale of a marine mammal product for an unauthorized purpose. The misdemeanor charge carries a federal prison sentence of up to a year and a fine of up to $200,000 for the company, federal authorities said.

The Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammal Protection Act make it illegal, except under very limited circumstances, to hunt, kill or capture whales and also prohibit trade in the animals or any part of them.

Thanks to CNN.com for the info.

Kadeem Jack is a competitive forward that brings energy to the floor and sparks his team with hustle plays. He is a good looking prospect that is more athlete than basketball player at the moment, but showed some very good instincts around the rim. Althought the 6’9 Senior has a lot to work on, he is an intriguing prospect and has many offers to prove it. We caught up with Kadeem to talk about his recruiting and the season.

How’s the season? We started off a little hyped and won a couple of big games. Then we struggled a little but now we’re back on track.

What is your current list? Arizona, Arkansas, UConn, Georgetown, Providence, Miami, Florida, Kentucky, UCLA, California, Seton Hall, and West Virginia. All of the schools have offered except for Kentucky.

Discuss the rumors that Arizona is in the lead? I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite. It’s the only school I have visited. As of now they kind of have the edge over other schools.

On his visit to Arizona? It was a great experience. The fans and the whole environment was great.

On other possible visits? I’m not really sure yet. I’m still in the process of figuring it all out.

On when he will commit? I will most likely commit to a school in April.

If Jim Calhoun’s Health troubles scare him? No, it does not scare me at all.

On what he is looking for in a program? I am looking for good coaching, as well as good development.

Thanks to Kadeem for the interview.

Kyle Wiltjer exhibited his skill throughout the contest as he drained shots from all over the court at the Les Schwab Invitational. He’s a young-looking junior with a lengthy frame and decent athleticism. He isn’t going to over power his opponents, but he’ll dissect them with skill and savvy. Wiltjer is interested in a lot of schools on the West Coast but don’t assume he is staying there. The East Coast wants Kyle, as well. We talked with Kyle all about his recruitment.

What is your current list of colleges? Is there a favorite? In no particular order…Gonzaga, The whole PAC 10, Kansas, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Harvard, Georgetown, Duke, Texas, Maryland, Marquette.

When do you plan on making your commitment? Don’t plan on making a commitment until after next summer’s AAU.

What are you looking for in a school? Looking for a good fit for my type of play. I like to face up a lot and post up smaller defenders. So somewhere that I can use my versatility. Also a program that is known for player development so I can improve my game.

Have you taken any visits yet? Which have stood out to you? I have taken unnoficial visits to California, Stanford, Kansas, UCLA, OSU, and Oregon. None have stood out I am just trying to gather information about each school.

You are a big man from Oregon. Do you draw a lot of comparisons to Kevin Love? I havent heard any just besides the fact that we are from the same area. I have heard some comparisons to Kyle Singler because of how versatile he was. Both are great players and I am honored that any one would mention my name with them.

You have a lot of offers from schools. Who else do you expect to get offers from? I don’t expect to get offers from anyone. I feel that the hard work will play off, and hopefully my play catches the eyes of any other colleges out there. No, wherever the fit is good, that is where I will go to college, regardless of location.

What are your goals for the rest of the season, as well as AAU? My goal for the current season is to continue to work on my game and aim for another state title. In AAU, I would like to continue to work on my body in the off season and then play my best on the circuit so any other colleges can see me.

Can you give us a hint about your recruitment? I will focus on the season ahead of me, then after next summer’s AAU, I will start eliminating schools.

What is one thing most people do not know about Kyle Wiltjer? The one thing about me that a lot of people don’t know would have to be that I am a great artist. When I was little I loved drawing NBA players that I look up to so that helped me become a better drawer.

We want to thank Kyle Wiltjer for the interview and wish him the best of luck with the season.

Note- All interviews are done through Facebook/Email/Myspace/Call/Text/Etc. All people are REAL. No fakes here!

San Diego is the?latest to host Comic Con, a gathering of all fans of super heros from comic books. This year was the 40th anniversary of the event. Besides the usual, there were some happenings at this hot event that had the press ringing.

Thursday at Comic-Con, the Gandalfs, Green Lanterns, Greedos, “Galactica” fans and other, well, geeks, stepped aside and made room for the latest annual convention phenomenon: “Twilight.” As the stars sped around from one event to the next, “New Moon” actors Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were the queen and king of the festivities. To read about the interview with Stewart & Lautner as well as the Panel, go to http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1616916/20090724/story.jhtml.

On the same day of the “Twilight-fest”, famous film-director, Tim Burton,?took to the stage in front of 6,000 screaming fans to unveil dazzling new 3-D footage from his upcoming “Alice in Wonderland” re-imagining. As he told the crowd, it was his first time at the 40th annual event since he was in art school, when the tiny geek-meeting was a slide show held in a San Diego basement.

As it turned out, another Comic-Con newbie stole his thunder, but since that newbie was longtime collaborator Johnny Depp, Burton didn’t mind. To read what the two had to say about each other and the event go to http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1616955/20090725/story.jhtml.

Despite Comic Con still have one more day left, it has not dissapointed at all. The 40th anniversary has had it’s horizon expanded as the list of comedians, actors, directors and everyone else have been spectacular!

Thanks to MTV.com for the info and to http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3394/3262237918_e655a58480.jpg?for the photo.

Not since 2002 have two brothers gone up against each other in a pitching duel. It all changes tonight. The Dodgers play game 2 of 3 in their series with the Angles.

Jeff Weaver would often get annoyed with his little brother, Jered, when the two were growing up. ?Sometimes it felt like he was tagging along a little too much,? Jeff said. The duel between Jeff and Jered Weaver in Saturday night?s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels will mark their first matchup, and the 21st time in big league history that siblings have started against each other.

Ironically, the brothers grew up in Simi Valley, about 60 miles northwest of Angel Stadium. They were never really competitive with each other growing up, simply because of the six-year age difference. Jeff always did things first: He played baseball in college, got drafted first, and won a World Series title first.

On Friday, before the Angels and Dodgers began their three-game series, he let Jered walk in before him and gave him the table to talk first. Hopefully no one lets anyone walk past them in this interesting matchup. The Dodgers have been red hot even without Manny Ramirez and The Angels have been struggling all year. But it seems that Jered is a better pitcher than Jeff. This one is tough to call but should get a lot of attention,?never the less.

Oak Hill Academy had one of the best seasons any high school basketball team could ask for. The Warriors went 41-1 and knocked off some of the best teams in the country. One of the key contributors was guard, Peshon Howard. Howard, a 6’2 California native, had an impressive year along with the other D1 talented players on his team. During the summer, he plays for Team Odom out of California. We recently caught up with Peshon to talk Oak Hill Basketball and much more!

It was a heck of a year for Oak Hill. Would you reflect on the season? It was a great year! People were down on us at the beginning of the year but we played together and believed in each other.

The last game was a loss to Findlay Prep. How much did that loss hurt??A lot because we felt we were the better team. It was just an off night for us.

You guys are losing a lot of seniors. What will your role be this upcoming year? So far?I will be playing the 2 so?there will be?more scoring than last year. Besides that its the same.

Have you received any offers yet? Which teams are showing interested??I have a lot of offers and a lot of schools I’m wide open to?but Maryland, Stanford, Baylor, Nebraska, Virginia Tech,?Virginia, Ohio State, Alabama, California and?Arizona.

What are your goals for the summer and AAU Basketball? I want to try to be as ready for college as possible. I’m a long way off from making any All-American game but hopefully I will have a big enough summer and senior year that?I can make some or even be considered.?I think it is possible.

The Lakers won the NBA Finals. Were you happy about this? Of course! I’m from?L.A. I’ve been a Laker fan all my life plus?I play for Team Odom.

Is there any team or player that you are looking forward to play against next year? Not really.?I just want to win every game and matchup that I’m in.

Peshon will have a heavy work load next year as Oak Hill loses a lot of good starters and bench players. Will he be able to step up to the challenge and help Oak Hill Academy knock off some of the top teams in the country? That will have to be seen. We want to thank Peshon Howard for the interview and wish him and Oak Hill the best of luck next year.

Family Guy is one of the funniest/ greatest shows since The Simpsons. Everynight I enjoy watching old episodes of this show on Adult Swim. Seth MacFarlane did a great job with this show… there hasn’t been one episode where I haven’t laughed or enjoyed repeating lines with my friends to have a good laugh. From Peter Griffen to Joe Swanson to the Pedophile Old Man, Seth created GREAT characters who always seemed to make me laugh everytime I watched the show…. but it does not end there.

Recently Seth MacFarlane announced that he will make a spin-off of Family Guy and guess who is the star of the show, if you guessed it right, it is CLEVELAND. In this show, Cleveland is done with Quahog and is ready to start his own adventure with his family. They pack up their bags, say bye to their old friends and head on out to California. But he ?ends up heading back home to ?his fictional hometown , Stoolbed, Virginia.?

In this NEW show, we will be introduced to NEW characters. We all know about his wife Donna and his son Cleveland Jr., who is more “obese” in this show than in his previous appearance on Family Guy. But this show also introduces his daugther, Roberta, who is in her late teens, and Rallo, his 5 yr old son. Cleveland’s neighbors will include a family of talking bears with human qualities, a hipster-wannabe named Holt and an English Family. Also, check out guest appearances later on. In an episode in 2010 there will be a guest appearance from Kanye West playing Kenny West.?

It was said that Cleveland will officially leave Family Guy but will make occasional visits back in it. The Cleveland Show is scheduled to debut in Fall of 2009. Here are the titles of the First Season’s episodes (In the order they will be played)

“Pilot”

“Old Friend and New Friend and Even a Job”

“Da Doggone Daddy-Daughter Dinner Dance”

“The One About Friends”

“From Bed to Worse”

“Fields of Streams”

“Ladies’ Night”

“Cleveland Jr.’s Cherry Bomb”

“A Brown Thanksgiving”

“Love Rollercoaster”

“It’s a Wonderful Lie”

“Our Gang”

“Buried Pleasure”

“Ship’rect”

“The Curious Case of Jr. Working at the Stool”

“Once Upon a Tyne in New York”

“The Brown Knight”

(Names of the Episodes may be changed)

I hope this show is as good as Family Guy or even better! Won’t know until the first couple episodes but the trailer doesn’t seem bad. Check it out below!
