“I have never injected myself or had anyone inject me with anything,” he told the House Government Reform Committee on March 17, 2005. “I have not broken the laws of the United States or the laws of the Dominican Republic. I have been tested as recently as 2004, and I am clean.”

Lie after Lie after Lie. A-Rod, Manny, Bonds, Clemens, Palemiro and now Sosa. Sammy Sosa was one of reasons baseball was so succesful in its return after the 1994 strike. Everyone, including myself, knows how he and Mark McGwire saved baseball in the summer of 1998 when they made home run hitting a thing of beauty. Now, it may be uglier than anything we have ever seen before. Yesterday the?New York Times reported Sosa was on a list of 104 players who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003. The paper did not identify the drug.

Sosa’s agent, Adam Katz, told The Associated Press he had no comment on the report. Commissioner Bud Selig’s office spokesman Rich Levin also had no comment, saying Major League Baseball didn’t have a copy of the test results. Michael Weiner, the union general counsel, also declined comment. The union, while fighting to get the list back from the government, has mostly refused to discuss reports about the list because it does not want to confirm or deny who is on it.

I was not surprised in the least about this but it always gets you dissapointed. This was a man who had so people supporting him and then he cheated. After that he was accussed and denied it so many times. He lied and lied and lied. Now he will face legal trouble since he commited perjury. Good Job Slammin’ Sammy, it was nice knowing you!

Thanks to Wikipedia for the info and to http://www4.stat.ncsu.edu/~reiland/sammy.sosa.cork.jpg?for the photo.

In an upcoming book, that is set to be released on May 4th,?a lot?of controversy arises!?Alex Rodriguez by Sports Illustrated’s Selena Roberts, the New York Daily News reports today that Rodriguez may have started taking steroids as early as high school and is suspected of continuing his use of performance-enhancing drugs with the New York Yankees.

A front-page headline (right) reads, “A-Rod Book Bombshell” with text below adding, “Slugger may have taken HGH while playing for the Yankees” and, “Hints he took steroids as early as high school days.”

The report indicates that a high school teammate of Rodriguez’s told Roberts that A-Rod took steroids before being drafted as a No. 1 pick and that his high school coach knew it — an allegation the coach, Rich Hoffman, denied.

The book also indicates that two anonymous Yankees said they believed Rodriguez was using banned substances based on visual side effects, which reportedly led to Rodriguez gaining an unflattering nickname that referenced an increased pectoral size comparable to a woman’s chest. The report also notes that a clubhouse staffer suggested management had a suspicion that the third baseman may have been juicing.

… As if things couldn’t get any worse for baseball as well as A-Rod. Another disturbing twist to this is that he might have tipped pitches. If all of this is true, things are not looking good for Rodriguez, who reportedly failed a drug test back in 2003 to start off this spring training’s news.

Alex is an interesting person and I’m sure he is a nice guy but really! People need to get off the topic of this guy. There are tons of other people with interesting lives. As stupid as he seems, you gotta feel bad for Alex.

Thanks to Boston.com for the article and to them and the Daily News for the photo.
