Kyle Wiltjer exhibited his skill throughout the contest as he drained shots from all over the court at the Les Schwab Invitational. He’s a young-looking junior with a lengthy frame and decent athleticism. He isn’t going to over power his opponents, but he’ll dissect them with skill and savvy. Wiltjer is interested in a lot of schools on the West Coast but don’t assume he is staying there. The East Coast wants Kyle, as well. We talked with Kyle all about his recruitment.

What is your current list of colleges? Is there a favorite? In no particular order…Gonzaga, The whole PAC 10, Kansas, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Harvard, Georgetown, Duke, Texas, Maryland, Marquette.

When do you plan on making your commitment? Don’t plan on making a commitment until after next summer’s AAU.

What are you looking for in a school? Looking for a good fit for my type of play. I like to face up a lot and post up smaller defenders. So somewhere that I can use my versatility. Also a program that is known for player development so I can improve my game.

Have you taken any visits yet? Which have stood out to you? I have taken unnoficial visits to California, Stanford, Kansas, UCLA, OSU, and Oregon. None have stood out I am just trying to gather information about each school.

You are a big man from Oregon. Do you draw a lot of comparisons to Kevin Love? I havent heard any just besides the fact that we are from the same area. I have heard some comparisons to Kyle Singler because of how versatile he was. Both are great players and I am honored that any one would mention my name with them.

You have a lot of offers from schools. Who else do you expect to get offers from? I don’t expect to get offers from anyone. I feel that the hard work will play off, and hopefully my play catches the eyes of any other colleges out there. No, wherever the fit is good, that is where I will go to college, regardless of location.

What are your goals for the rest of the season, as well as AAU? My goal for the current season is to continue to work on my game and aim for another state title. In AAU, I would like to continue to work on my body in the off season and then play my best on the circuit so any other colleges can see me.

Can you give us a hint about your recruitment? I will focus on the season ahead of me, then after next summer’s AAU, I will start eliminating schools.

What is one thing most people do not know about Kyle Wiltjer? The one thing about me that a lot of people don’t know would have to be that I am a great artist. When I was little I loved drawing NBA players that I look up to so that helped me become a better drawer.

We want to thank Kyle Wiltjer for the interview and wish him the best of luck with the season.

Note- All interviews are done through Facebook/Email/Myspace/Call/Text/Etc. All people are REAL. No fakes here!
