MythBusters: Erik Gates Dies
One of the cast members, Erik Gates, on the popular show on the Discovery Channel, MythBusters, died after he fell from a thirty foot drop in a work-related accident. Erik Gates, owner of Gateco Electric, was working at the site of his death when he fell through a skylight. Gates suffered blunt force chest injuries and died on Sunday. Dirk Gates, his brother and president and CEO of Xirrus, Inc., company owns the site where his brother died. Condolences can be read at the official MythBusters twitter page. Erik’s expertise in rocketry initiated his involvement with MythBusters. He appeared on four episodes of MythBusters as the shows Amateur Rocket Expert. He also appeared on the intial pilot for the show back in 2003 and in episodes Ming Dynasty Astronaut in 2004, Bullet Proof Water, 360 Degree Swing in 2005 and Confederate Rocket in 2005.
