Airplane Sucks In Container

Japan Airlines Boeing 747′s engine?sucked in a large empty metal baggage container on Monday. As the jetliner was preparing to depart from Los Angeles, with its 245 passengers, the accident occurred when Flight 61 to Narita Japan backed out of Gate 101 at Tom Bradley International Terminal. The Airport officials say that the vacuum was created, when the airplane was about to take off, by the air intake of the left outboard engine which was so strong that the metal container was pulled in the engine off of a baggage cart that they think was either parked or was put too close to the aircraft. The aproximately 5ft by 5ft by 4ft container was lodged into the engine’s housing. Japan Airlines took the passengers off of the airplane and made other arrangements for them and the 18 crew members. The 747 airplane is now out of service and was towed away to a hanger for inspection. Luckily no one got hurt and the airplane didn’t try to take off. All that matters is everyone is safe and people were able to get home.
